The movie is all about Sam Childers, a gang biker from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who is released from prison only to discover his wife, Lynn, has transformed her life by converting to Christianity and leaving her days as a stripper behind. One night, Sam and his best friend Donnie pick up a hitchhiker who pulls a pocketknife on Donnie. Sam swiftly turns the tables on the stranger, and this incident profoundly impacts him. Urged by Lynn and his mother Daisy, Sam decides to join their church and gets baptized. He secures a construction job, and after meeting an inspiring preacher from Africa, he feels compelled to visit the continent. The story follows Sam’s multiple trips to Northern Uganda and South Sudan, marking a journey of redemption and purpose.
